Women and children first - art project
The Fabulous Fairytales
The Fabulous Fairytales is a workshop for children in which they create their own book of fairytales together.
The Fabulous Fairytales, or Las Fabulas Locas in Spanish, was first setup in Lima, Peru, in which disabled and non-disabled children worked together to realize an art work which helped enhance their mutual understanding of oneanother. Together they adapted fairy tales, giving rise to such fabulous characters as Little Green Riding Hood and Aladdin the Duck. The children made three dimensional maquettes of the story with which they told their fairytales. Photos of these scenes together make up the book of Fabulous Fairytales.
