Karin Janssen is a Dutch visual artist, dividing her time between working and exhibiting in Shanghai, London and the Netherlands and running Karin Janssen Project Space in London. Janssen’s work researches how crude emotions can alter the appearance of the physical body by creating large, seductive drawings that lure us in and then confront us with our own abject inner-self. In her independent exhibition space she curates shows of both emerging and established artists from the UK and abroad.

Karin Janssen Project Space
After four years in London it is time for Karin Janssen Project Space to spread its wings to broader horizons and after Chinese Whispers we will be expanding to China! Shanghai will be the base of the gallery, but the interaction between London, the Netherlands and Shanghai will become an important part of the gallery's practice. The aim of the coming years is to work as a connecting presence between the UK, Europe and Asia, organising exhibitions in London, the Netherlands and Shanghai. Karin Janssen and her Project Space are not leaving; they are just going ahead to explore the Asian art world. But we'll be back. For latest updates see blog.
